Privacy Policy
Cascade ("we", "us") builds a focus and app-blocking app for iPhone. We designed it to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what we handle and why.
The short version
- Your blocking stays on your device. Choosing which apps to block and enforcing it runs entirely on-device through Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. We never receive the list of apps you block.
- Your focus data is yours. Focus time, streaks and session history live on your device and in your private iCloud/app storage.
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
What we collect
Account information. If you create an account or add friends, we store the basics needed to run those features — for example a display name and a unique identifier — using our backend provider (Google Firebase). You can use core blocking features without an account.
Social features. If you add friends or appear on a leaderboard, the focus stats you choose to share (such as streaks and total focus time) are visible to the friends you connect with.
Diagnostics. We may collect anonymized crash and performance data to keep the app stable. This does not include the identities of apps you block.
Subscriptions. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation that a subscription is active, but we never see your card or payment details.
What we do not collect
- The specific apps or categories you block.
- Your browsing history or the content inside other apps.
- Your payment card information.
How we use information
To provide and improve the app: run your account and social features, keep streaks and stats in sync across your devices, process subscriptions, and fix bugs. We do not use your data for advertising.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the app (such as Apple for payments and Google Firebase for accounts and sync), and only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data retention & your choices
You can delete your account at any time, which removes the account data associated with it. Because blocking data is stored on your device, deleting the app removes it. To request deletion or ask a question, contact us below.
Children
Cascade is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll revise the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
